Introduction
FolioX ("we", "our", or "the app") is a privacy-first portfolio tracking application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how FolioX handles your data.
Data Storage
All your portfolio data — including accounts, holdings, and transactions — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers that store user portfolio data. Your financial information never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync.
iCloud Sync (Pro Feature)
If you subscribe to FolioX Pro and enable iCloud sync, your portfolio data is synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is transmitted directly between your devices through Apple's encrypted infrastructure. We never have access to, process, or store your synced data.
Market Data Requests
To display current prices, FolioX sends network requests to third-party market data providers (such as Yahoo Finance and CoinGecko). These requests contain only ticker symbols (e.g., "AAPL", "BTC") and do not include any personal information, portfolio quantities, cost basis, or account details.
Analytics and Tracking
FolioX does not include any third-party analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage analytics, device identifiers, or behavioral data. We have no interest in tracking how you use the app.
Subscriptions
FolioX Pro subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit 2 framework. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information, credit card details, or billing addresses.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all FolioX data by simply deleting the app. If you have iCloud sync enabled, you can also remove synced data through your iCloud storage settings. No data persists on our end because we never receive it.
Third-Party Services
FolioX interacts with the following third-party services solely for market data:
- Yahoo Finance — stock price quotes
- CoinGecko — cryptocurrency price quotes
- ExchangeRate API — currency exchange rates
These services receive only ticker symbols or currency codes in API requests. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for information on how they handle request data.
Children's Privacy
FolioX does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Since we do not collect email addresses, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
